Macaroni Cheese

  • 2 tbp flour
  • Handful of breadcrumbs
  • 350g macaroni/penne
  • 1 tsp of mustard powder
  • 50g/0.11lb of butter/margarine
  • 1 cup or roughly approx 250ml of milk
  • 110g/0.242lb of grated strong cheddar cheese
  • Method

    •Partly boil the pasta for about 5 min i.e. don't fully cook it as baking at the end will cook it.
    •While pasta is partly boiling, preheat oven for about 10min .
    •In a separate pot, whisk the milk, flour, butter and mustard making sure the white sauce doesn't have lumps.
    •Continue whisking and add the cheese until you have a consistent smooth sauce without lumps.
    •Drain pasta, mix the sauce with pasta in a baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs and add more cheese on top.
    •Bake for approximately 30min at 180°c/356°F.
    •Dish-out with your mince or mince-balls and ENJOY.
